Changes to the way you may apply for awards and endoresments

As this was approved by the Board these changes are in affect. If you did not see them posted on the reflector or heard them on the air this is a reminder and posting of the changes. Once again please read them and if you have any questions please contact me directly either via email or phone at 231-864-2354. Also again keep in mind that I have NO CONTROL over the U.S. Postal service delivery times. No Award, Endorsement or Geratol number will be issued until your application has been approved and your funds received. Dave KJ8V

CHANGE TO THE WAY YOU MAY
APPLY FOR AN AWARD OR ENDORSEMENT
THIS IS COMPLETELY VOLUNTARY
In order to help those applying for an Award or Endorsement you may now use the following methods when applying for an Award or Endorsement. It will enable the Awards Manager to be able to check your log/application and let you know if they are complete and filled out properly. In some cases it may also reduce your postage cost.

These steps apply to all awards/endorsements EXCEPT the basic W.A.S. award. See steps for the Basic Award on second page.
You may now send your required log/application to the Awards Manager via Email.

1. Send your properly filled out log/application to the Awards Manager via email.

2. Include a valid phone number in case the Awards Manager needs to contact you because of a problem. Any corrections required may also be made via email.

3. Once the Awards Manager notifies you that your application is approved mail your check, made out to the Awards Manager, and when received your award/endorsement will be mailed to you.

4. No award or endorsement nor Geratol Numbers will be issued until funds/cards are received and approved.
As Awards Manager I will process your log/application and notify you as soon as I receive it.

6. Remember to include a valid email address and phone number and the way you would like for your name to appear on your certificate. I would personally like to call you if there is a problem because I have found it to be easier to discuss it over the phone than in an email.

THESE STEP ONLY APPLY TO
THE UNBELIEVABLE OPERATING AWARD
(BASIC AWARD)

These steps apply to the Unbelievable Operating Achievement/Basic award ONLY. This will eliminate duplicate submissions in case there is a problem with your application and speed up the award process.

1. You may now send your properly filled W.A.S. application to the Awards Manger via Email. You MUST still send your QSL cards and your check, made out to the Awards Manager Dave Ertel, for award cost and return postage for your cards if you want the cards returned to you.

2. The Awards Manager will check your W.A.S. application and notify you via email/phone if the application is filled out properly. Also, if there is a problem with your W.A.S. application the Awards Manager will notify you of the problem so you can fix the problem before submitting your cards, check and return postage for your cards

3. Once your W.A.S. application is approved and you have been notified by the Awards Manager you may submit your cards and check made out to Dave Ertel for the award and return postage for your cards.

4. After your cards and application are approved the Awards Manager will issue your Unbelievable Operating Achievement/Basic award.

5. Your Unbelievable Operating Achievement/Basic certificate will be mailed to you and your cards returned to you. The Awards Manager will email you with tracking number for you certificate and cards.

6. Remember to include a valid email address and phone number and the way you would like for your name to appear on your certificate. I would personally like to call you if there is problem because I have found it to be easier to discuss it over the phone than in an email.

Keep in mind that I have no control over the U.S. Postal service and their delivery times.
