Today we lost a giant of PNW DXing and Contesting, Rod W7OM.

He did not survive a medical procedure.

Just this weekend in the CQWW CW he had over 500 DX Q’s LP and was feeling fine. 

 I dont think there’s been a contest over the last 7 decades that didnt find W7OM in many many logs. 

Rod leaves a big hole in the amateur radio family and will be very missed on the bands by so many.

I am sorry to report that Wayne Hearn WG8U, G# 1731 and D# 176 is now a silent key as identified by QRZ. Unfortunately, I can find no other information on his passing.

I am very sorry to report that, during a routine license expiration date check this month, I discovered today that both ND4N John (G #1115) and N4ENX Sue (G #829) are listed as SKs on QRZ. The SK date is given for Sue only.

I am sorry to report that I just learned today that Bill became a SK on June 1, 2021.

In addition to his activity on the Geratol Net, he was also an avid county hunter and mobile operator, having earned USA-CA #693 from CQ Magazine on January 26, 1991.

He was most recently serving as the club Historian for MARAC (the Mobile Amateur Radio Awards Club).

We will all miss Bill!

I am very sorry to report that Chuck Ralph W3CR G#1923 D#226 became a silent key on February 18, 2021.

Chuck was also a very active mobiler and county hunter for many years and earned the CQ Magazine USA-CA Award #955 on September 15, 1998.

I am sorry to report that George Tomlinson AA4GT G#2533 D#633 became a silent key from complications due to COVID-19 on April 9, 2020, as reported by KN4SWS to N4CD and posted in the County Hunter Web Forum at this link: http://countyhunterweb.org/DisplayForum.php?id=15596.

George was a very active Geratoler as was his wife Mary NV4Z G#885 D#86 whom he married on September 2, 2000 and who predeceased him on July 21, 2018. He was also a very active county hunter and was 86 years old.

We will all miss George. Please stay home and stay safe during this pandemic!
